Native to the humid tropical forests of Costa Rica and nearby Central American regions, this tree‑dwelling tarantula thrives in warm, well‑ventilated enclosures with plenty of vertical climbing space and secure anchor points for webbing.

Appearance and Natural Habitat

This species typically displays earthy brown to dark tones along the body and legs, contrasted by bright orange hairs around the chelicerae, giving rise to its “orange mouth” common name. As an arboreal tarantula, it prefers cork bark hides, branches, and dense foliage to create elevated, secure retreats.
